The standalone expansion to Subnautica drops you into a frozen alien ocean. The core loop remains the same—explore, gather resources, build bases, try not to drown—but the icy setting changes the survival dynamics enough to feel distinct from the original. Strong recommendation if you missed it the first time around, or if you enjoyed the base game and want more. PS5 and PS4.
Ultros
An indie that defies easy categorization. Part Metroidvania, part gardening sim, wrapped in genuinely striking visuals. The gameplay blends exploration and cultivation in ways that shouldn’t work but somehow do. Definitely the wildcard pick this month, and worth trying even if the premise sounds bizarre. PS5 and PS4.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
Aerial combat done right. If you’ve played any Ace Combat game before, you know what you’re getting—dramatic dogfights, overblown military storylines, and satisfying arcade-style flight. The campaign holds up, and there’s enough content here to justify a revisit even if you played it at launch. PS5 and PS4.
Which Tier Gets What
All four games are available to every PlayStation Plus tier—Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers all have access. The monthly game drops remain one of the clearer value propositions for the Essential tier, which otherwise lacks the streaming and expanded catalog features of higher tiers.
Worth Staying Subscribed?
Feb 2026 ranks among the stronger monthly offerings in recent memory. Subnautica: Below Zero alone would justify the month for subscribers who haven’t played it. Undisputed fills a genre gap that PlayStation has lacked recently.
