The Best Game Play and Trailers of E3 2012

E3 is done and dusted for another year. But what a year it has been with huge announcements and brilliant new game trailers and game play released. We have picked the best of E3 2012 and included videos of the visually stunning game play. There are 10 games on the list, but the release of Nintendo Wii U also makes our list and takes our total Top Ten to Eleven!

11: Resident Evil 6

Originally slated for worldwide release on November 20th this year, it’s now due out on 2nd October. Resident Evil 6 introduces multiple playable characters to the series, each with their own distinctive style of play.

10: Assassin’s Creed 3

Ubisoft has created a next-generation game in AC3. In keeping with the time period, armour has disappeared, instead players now have access to an impressive arsenal of weapons including a Tomahawk, dual-pistols, hidden blade, sword, bow and arrow & rope dart. Due for release 30th October 2012.

9: The Last of Us

The Last of Us was a hit at E3, however doesn’t rank higher on our list because its release date has now slipped to 2013. Naughty Dog is likely to have a hit on its hands when Joel and Ellie finally hit the shelves, sometime in 2013.

8: Dead Space 3

Another 2013 release is Dead Space 3. Isaac crash-lands on the planet Tau Volantis as he searches to finish the Necromorphs off for good. The graphics and game play look stunning. Dead Space 3 should hit stores in 18th February 2013

7: Avengers: Battle for Earth

The Avengers take on the Skrulls a race of extraterrestrial shapeshifters in this Ubisoft Quebec Wii U game, scheduled for release in November 2012. All of the good guys from the 2012 movie are there, including Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Hulk and Iron Man.

6: Halo 4

Halo 4 is the latest instalment in the hugely popular Halo franchise, with its predecessor taking over half a billion dollars, expectations of Halo 4 are high. The global release date is expected to be 6th November.

5: Dishonored

Arkane Studios’ has scheduled Dishonored for a 9th October 2012 release. The graphics are visually stunning and the game has imported the faces of real urban construction workers and club bouncers to serve as the faces of non-playable characters to add a bit of reality.

4: Nintendo Wii U

Ok, so this one is not a game, but it is a hugely anticipated game console. Recently Amazon put a pre-order page for the Wii U at a starting price of £199 and a release date of July 12th 2012. Do they know something we don’t? They have now pulled the pre-order page and most of the industry expects a pre-Xmas release of October or November.

3: Gears of War: Judgment

Gears of War : Judgement, created by Bulletstorm Studio People Can Fly, is reportedly set to take place 15 years before the original Gears of War. Microsoft has confirmed a 2013 release date, with rumours of mid April.

2: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

A likely Smash hit for Activision. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the eighth game in this mega franchise and one of the most anticipated release of 2012. It is also now rumoured to be released on Wii U. The official releases date is 13th November 2012.

1: Watch Dogs

Ahhhhhh….One of the surprise hits of E3, Watch Dog is a hi-tech assassin game that has now had its release date pushed back to 2013. The game play in the below video was met with wild admiration, to say this game Is wildly anticipated would be an understatement.
